Referees
Are you interested in refereeing lacrosse this year? If so, you will need to be certified by the Ontario Lacrosse Association. There are a few requirements that must be fulfilled before you can start (see below), but once these are met you are ready to start refereeing.
Both returning referees and those interested in refereeing for the first time this season MUST contact the Referee-in-Chief, Jean-Guy Lalonde by email indicating the intention to referee, age and referee level obtained.
2010 Clinic:
The 2010 Referee clinic will be held on the 27th of March at the Merivale High school which is located on Merivale in Nepean, registration will start at 0830 sharp. Please take note that all referees must attend it's an all day affair. Also it should be noted that you will require to bring a lunch or be prepared to buy locally. For referees younger then 18 your parents must attend to sign on your behalf or if you have received a registration in the mail make sure that they sign off on it or you will not be permitted to attend the clinic..

Age Requirement:
Must turn at least 14 years old during the calendar year.
Prerequisites:
Familiarity with game and rules of Box Lacrosse
Training Session:
One day, Referee Clinic will be held in the Zone 5 area. Referee shirt, rule book, situation handbook are provided. Referee must provide whistle, pants, black socks and running shoes. The fee for this clinic is paid by the Gloucester Lacrosse Association on the condition that the person does referee within the Gloucester Lacrosse system.
Pay:
$10.00- $25.00 per game
Game Scheduling:
Normally one week in advance, referees are assigned a game(s) when possible multiple games are scheduled. Most games are played on weekdays (Monday thru Thursday) — between 6:00 and 10:00PM with some weekends.
